Humility Learnt

But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”  Ex 3:11 ESV
Moses is named in Scripture as the most humble man ever Num 12:3.  Reading of his encounter with God at the beginning of Exodus, we can see this humility in his speech.  But, if we turn back a few chapters, we learn that humility wasn’t something Moses possessed naturally.  He grew up in the posh setting of Egyptian royalty.  After growing up in the royal house, he decided to visit his oppressed brothers, the Israelites.  He then witnessed some of them being beaten by an Egyptian Ex 2:11.  We can assume, by his actions after seeing this, that he assumed it was his God given role to save the Israelites from the oppression of the Egyptians, and he killed the Egyptian Ex 2:12.  This doesn’t appear to be the mark of a humble man.  He eventually fled Egypt in fear and spent 40 years as a shepherd in the wilderness.  God had a plan for Moses from the beginning to save his people.  But, Moses did it his way instead of God’s way and in turn, ran away.  It was during this time that we can assume Moses learned the importance of humility and was molded into the man God wanted him to be.  God often uses these times in the wilderness to refine us for his future works as he did with Moses. You might feel a great call from God for a mighty work, but yet need some refining.

Stay patient and learn what it is God is teaching you.

Lord, give me the patience so you can teach what and who I need to be. AmenLord, give me the patience so you can teach what and who I need to be. Amen

Monthly Meditations

Scripture
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
For the Lord is a great God,
and a great King above all gods. (
Psalm 95:1-3ESV)

Encouragement

The Bible is full of scriptures like this that speak to the praise of God, especially the book of Psalms. King David wrote many of these Psalms with much passion, you can just feel the sincerity and gratitude he must have felt while writing these. “Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!” Amen!

Prayer

Lord open my heart so as to give you all Praises and Adoration due to your name....
Amen.

Monthly Meditations

Scripture

“Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!”
Psalm 46:10 ESV

Encouragement
The words “be still” mean literally to let go, to let drop, to relax, and to be quiet. For most of us stillness, silence, and serenity are difficult to find. Even when we are able to find it externally, it can still be difficult to cultivate stillness internally. Life is busy! It is not only tough to be still, but it is tough to make the time to be still. This whole idea of being still goes against what we naturally and culturally do. When our natural inclination is to step on the gas and go full speed ahead, God is often telling us to hit the brakes and be still. Our problem is that many times we view being still with God as inactivity.

      Prayer

Father I pray to be still because my victory may be in my stillness (Ex 14:13).

June's Monthly Meditations

LOVE
Scripture
For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
2 Cor 5:14-15 ESV
Encouragement

When you wake up every morning, what is the first thing you think of? When you make a decision, what is the motivating factor? These are both important questions we should be asking ourselves. God Word tells us what the answer should be if we are Christians, that “the love of Christ controls us”.
We should realize that this Love is not simply a feeling for someone, but action that stems from our “abiding” in his love. John 15:9

Prayer

Lord, Teach me to Love you....Amen

SERMONIC SERIES TITLE: RESTORATION
vs.10 A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of John 10:10

There you have it.  No Christ, No Life, it’s as simple as that. Life does not consist in what a person possesses, but what possesses him. Begin to live for REAL and watch God restore you. Pray this prayer with me.  Lord, I commit my life to you. Teach me to trust you in every way. AMEN.
